CRYSTALS: Moonstone - Pearl - Selenite

Emotions - Intuition, - Visions - Deep instincts - Irrational fears -  Prophetic dreams

The Moon is one of the most mysterious Tarot cards. Like the Hanged Man, its meaning is often at the heart of debates.

The Moon is an ambivalent card with imagery that signifies the difficulty to see things with clarity. Indicating fluctuating moods and uncertainly, The Moon tells us that we must pay attention to our dreams, listen to our inner-voice and deal with issues that come to the surface in order to progress to a higher level of awareness.

Note: Because feminine energy and under water mysteries were considered black magic and evil in the Middle Ages, the Moon still carries today a certain inherent darkness. Therefore, some books or readers will advise to read the Moon like the Tower or the Devil: a reversed Moon would be less negative than an upright Moon. I leave this open to your own intuition as the Moon is a special card that speaks differently to different readers. I also find that its meaning is very much influenced by the cards surrounding it and I usually let the Moon speak in a unique way for each reading.

You need to be aware of the situations that are causing fear and anxiety in your mind, whether it is now or in the future. It alerts you not to allow inner disturbances and self-deception to take the best of you. These deep memories and fears must be let go, and the negative energies must be released and turned into something constructive.

Despair - Deception - Instabilities - Inconsistency - Helplessness

Reversed, The Moon implies that confusion reigns causing mistakes and bringing deception into your life. It infers that you may be involved in a difficult situation at this time which may be adversely affecting your health and inner-strength.

When The Moon appears reversed in a reading, it tells you not to take any risks at this time. There is a possibility for misunderstandings so make sure you say exactly what you mean. Do no waste energies in disagreements and arguments with others. Maintain your views regardless of opposition from others. You are asked not to waste your energies in arguments or disagreements, and do not be afraid to see things as they really are. Hold onto your point of view.
